Curaçao – [21 October - 28 October 2025] – In an exciting milestone for amateur radio, CQWW SSB 2025 will feature one of the youngest teams M/M in recent contesting history. Operating from the PJ2T station on the island of Curaçao, this groundbreaking effort will be led by seven youth operators, all under the age of 25, with three talented YLs among them. This event not only highlights the enthusiasm and expertise of young operators but also showcases the growing role of youth in the world of contesting.
The operation aims to demonstrate the capability, passion, and technical skill of the next generation of hams, inspiring others to engage in this vibrant hobby. However, recognizing the challenges faced by many young operators, most of whom are navigating college commitments or the beginnings of new careers, the team is actively exploring fundraising opportunities to help support this ambitious endeavor.
Funds raised will be crucial in covering essential expenses such as flights to Curaçao, lodging, equipment transportation, and other operational costs. Without this support, the financial burden on these young operators could limit their ability to participate fully in this unique experience.
The team believes this operation is a fantastic opportunity to spotlight youth involvement in contesting. But to make this a success, we’re seeking support to ease the financial load on these young operators.
