Sponsor a Camper To Attend a YOTA Camp!

If you'd like to sponsor a camper to attend a YOTA Camp, there are several options.  You can help make this program become a reality for yet another young operator!

  1.  The average cost per camper for a full week (region-wide) camp is about $2000.  The average cost per camper for a subregional camp (3 day country-specific camps & Junior camps) is about $700.  You can donate that amount or a partial amount that can be combined with other donations to pay for our cost of a camper to attend.
  2.  Each camper is responsible for travel expenses to and from the host city.  (The camp covers all housing, food, and transportation from arrival to departure.)  You can sponsor a camper by paying for part or all of his/her travel expenses to and from the camp location.
  3.  Each camper is charged $100.  This fee is not intended to pay for their expenses.  Rather, it's to have the young person demonstrate a level of committment to attend.  No-show campers cost us almost as much as campers who attend because of all the arrangments that have to be paid in advance.  So, the fee is designed to help prevent no-shows.  However, some campers can not afford this fee.  You or your organization could pay this fee on behalf of a camper if you can help ensure that the camper follows through with attending.

WHY DO MY DONATIONS GO TO EARS?

YOTA in the Americas is funded through Electronic Applications Radio Service (EARS), Inc., an Indiana and 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to education and service through wireless technologies.  Donations made to EARS go directly to fund YOTA in the Americas camp expenses, and are eligible to be tax deductible.  Check with your tax professional. A receipt with the appropriate tax ID numbers is available upon request.

EARS is an already an established 501c3 organization that is volunteering to support YOTA in the Americas projects.  Their assistance makes your contributions tax deductible, and made it possible to start supporting our camps immediately.  EARS shares officers with YOTA in the Americas to ensure proper allocation of funds.
