Youth on the Air Camp 2025

July 25-27, 2025

National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting

West Chester, Ohio, United States

Interested in attending a YOTA jr. Camp?

Youth Junior is for already licensed amateur radio operators under 15 years old and their parents! Have a license, but you don't know what to do next?  Come to YOTA junior, and we'll teach you all kinds of cutting edge technology that can be used with amateur radio and connect you to other young operators and mentors in North, Central, and South America.  Already an expert?  We're looking for young operators to take their knowledge to the next level and share their previous knowledge with other young amateurs.

YOTA Camp Junior is a subregional, 3-day version of the YOTA region wide camps.  Campers will experience similar activities as the region-wide camps, but on a smaller scale. The camp will focus on building strong relationships with peers and mentors, and parents while developing new and refining old skills. YOTA Junior in the Americas is costly modeled after the Kids On The Air program in IARU Region 1 (Europe/Africa/Middle East). Campers will also have the chance to operate a special event station, featuring cutting-edge HF and VHF/UHF radios that many only dream of having a chance to use... and a wide array of antennas.

YOTA Jr. - USA is set to debut in July, 2025 at the National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting in West Chester (Cincinnati), Ohio.  Applicants must have a valid US amateur radio license (any class) and be under the age of 15.  Sites across the USA will rotate and the dates will vary, but will typically be Friday through Sunday.  Campers will attend with a parent or guardian.  The parent/guardian does NOT need to have an amateur radio license.
