Youth DX Adventure Set for Caracao

Youth DX Adventure Set for Caracao

The Dave Kalter Memorial YDXA is a DX Adventure group that was formed in 2008 for taking young hams (and a parent) to a DX location to be the DX for several days. In the past we have been to Costa Rica TI5N, Curacao PJ2T, and Saba Island PJ6Y. Our mission each year is forming a team of youth between the ages of 12 to 17 (flexible) to travel outside the United States to operate as DX and to gain international travel experience and education. The group relies heavily on donations from Clubs, individuals, and organizations to help fund this effort. There is no cost to the youth and parent as we raise money through a raffle and the generosity of the amateur community.

This year (2022) we will be going to Curacao PJ2T and we have our team of 3 youth selected and ready for a great adventure.

The group owns their own equipment but travel, lodging and food costs are increasing. Our budget normally runs about $2500 per person and we have teams of 8-12. We do not divulge any amounts of donations and we do not have levels for our contributors. We do put your logo on our Website and our QSL cards. Please visit our website at www.qsl.net/n6jrl for instructions on mailing your donations.

We will have a booth at the 2022 Hamvention. Icom will be donating a radio such as the IC-705 that we will raffle off at the show. Please stop by and purchase a ticket for the Icom Radio. Thank you and we hope to see you in the log.
